SKAN3D
SKAN3D is a groundbreaking solution that addresses the cost, availability, and complexity challenges often associated with high-performance pavement inspection systems, including laser scanners. By offering a cost-effective alternative, SKAN3D makes advanced pavement assessment technology accessible to a wider audience. This innovative system, equipped with a camera, multi-sensors, and GPS, allows accurate measurement of carriageways, cycleways, and footways while maintaining simplicity in operation.
- Operates with a single person
- Direct, secure data upload to the cloud
- Control the survey hardware from your mobile phone through a bespoke app
- Powered from the vehicle or through a rechargeable battery
- Connect an external laser profiler for macrotexture measurements
- Able to connect and trigger external LED lights for nighttime imaging
- Available with adaptable vehicle mounting structures
- Water- and dust-proof
The system has two units. The external rear-mounted unit has all sensors; it is mounted through an adaptable frame system supplied with the scanner. The second box is kept inside the vehicle (or closer to the rider on a trike or a mobility scooter).
Why SKAN3D?
Pavement inspection is performed using two disparate sets of equipment. The highly accurate, but expensive, laser scanners measure distresses, whereas mobile phone-based systems detect defects using AI. SKAN3D tackles the holy grail of road inspection: cost-effective hardware that can detect and measure distresses.
